1 Understand roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
1.1 Analyse own role and responsibilities in education and training
My role and responsibilities in education and training includes motivating my learners to develop their ability and aspiration to learn. As a tutor I have a role to ensure students are prepared for assessments and learning is taken place. This can be done by inspiring the learners to change and improve their personal, social and professional skills to the best of their ability. I also have the role to plan and prepare teaching and learning activities that consider the needs and well-being of individual learners as well as groups of learners (individual tasks and group tasks). My role as a tutor in education and training also includes carrying out initial and diagnostic assessments, have a clear communication with the students, promote appropriate behaviour and respect, being aware of the support mechanisms available, being organised and being reflective which would include learning from successes as well as mistakes.
The responsibility I have as a tutor in education and training is to ensure that all learners’ needs are met, to ensure learning is taken place. I am also responsible to ensure that the students are on the required course in terms of what they would like to achieve and to meet their aims. My responsibility as a tutor also includes promoting equality and diversity and a safe and supportive learning environment for all learners, adhering to key legislation, regulatory requirements and codes of practice, inspiring leaners through my own professional behaviour, ensuring I attend relevant training for own professional development, improve the experience and achievement of my learners by attending meetings, setting appropriate learning targets for learners to their needs and aspirations as well as the course aims. I am also responsible for providing a safe learning environment and to safeguard learners. I should ensure any issues and concerns regarding safeguarding are reported to the safeguarding officer.
