Introduction
Managing an event in a proper way not only requires some management skills but also the ability to look at the big picture and think things holistically. Branding, planning for the target audience, forecasting and so on are included in event management (Abson, 2017). So, event management can be defined as the application of project management tools and techniques to offer a seamless, secured and satisfactory event for the target audience. In this assignment, the different types of events, event trends, management skills required for events and management for a secured event will be discussed with examples.

Task 1
Different types of events with examples
Different categories of events typically have different purpose and communication methods. The different categories of events include:
Seminars and Conference
Even though seminars and conferences have the same purpose, to provide knowledge and create expertise around a specific subject, they differ in their relative ways of execution (Armbrecht, 2019).
For example, Impact Hub is a well-known event location where seminars and conferences are held. Seminars are typically done in a short period of time while the conference is done in different sessions.

Educational Conference
These are the events where the educational institutes hold conferences to develop the skill of the students or provide a real-life example from real people.
For example, coin street conference center provides a venue for educational purposes like debates, forums, online webinars and so on.
Bridal Events
Bridal events are those where the weddings and bridal showers are organized considering the specifications of the clients.
For example, The Ned is very popular for organizing bridal events where they offer a range of services like photography, live music, food and so on(Bevilacqua, Ciarapica and Mazzuto, 2018).
Meetings
Board and shareholder meetings of an organization are very common and require to accommodate a huge number of people so that the organization can point out their achievements so far and the future plans.
For example, Battersea Evolution is a well-known place for holding meetings where upto 5000 guests can be seated.
Trade Shows
These events are the ones where organizations gather to promote and showcase their new or existing products and services for the end customers as well as business customers.
For example, the Business design center is a renowned venue for trade shows where different trade shows have been showcased like technology solutions, consultancy services, new product launch and so on (Armbrecht, 2018).
International Events
Various events are held internationally or nationally where the scope of the event is higher than the traditional events held(Brown, 2014).
For example, sports events, cricket world-cup and football world cup are held throughout the country or different countries.
There are also some dimensions of events that the event manager has to take into consideration for running a smooth event.
Micro, Macro and Mega-Events
There are different types of events considering the size of it, while larger events like a mega event like trade shows require more budget and support, smaller events like micro events such as a conference require lesser budget and support(Getz, 2012).
Multi and Single Site Event
Bigger events like sports are spread throughout the country where complexity is high and security requirement is also high.
Live and Virtual Events
Events can be broadcasted on the television and face to face events. For example, shareholder meetings in a conference hall is a live event while the marriage of Prince Charles was a virtual event for the spectators.
Current trends in the events sector
The current trends in the events sector are having an impact on all the related organizations offering event management support. The organizations that are being more creative with better offerings are being chosen by the customers while others are simply being ignored. For example, many of the bridal event planners offer photography, videography, food and decoration packages together (Getz and Wicks, 2013).
These types of packages are looked at by the customers so they get chosen. Moreover, London being an upbeat city, the residents have a willingness and drive towards a set-up that gives the vibe of the party rather than being gloomy. Because of that reason, the trade shows offer free pizza, beer and other food to attract the customers to subscribe or purchase the products.
Adaptation of the different types of events to remain up to date
Different trends are affecting the events sectors which makes sure that the events industry is flourishing.
The current trends in the sector can be defined considering the specific examples of the different categories of events available:
Seminars and Conference
Even though seminars and conferences have been considered as generic events, the organizers are adding some dimensions to it too (Goldblatt, 2015). For example, Augmented reality is added to draw attention to the subject being spoken about.
Trade Shows
Trade shows are offering different types of products and services to the clients and customers where the RFID or radio frequency identification is applied. In this way, the customers can purchase anything using their bands in which they load the amount of money they want to spend.
Education Conference
Augmented and virtual reality is applied here to provide specific examples to the students. For example, while teaching about astrology, videos are shown to teach them (HARRIS, 2015).
Bridal Events
Music, photography, and videography with the combination of great food are offered in this section to attract the audience under some packages so that they do not have to book one place for photography, another for food yet another for the place.
International Events
Engagement of fans and the participators in the events has become a trend. Game shows are arranged before or after to ensure the participation of the individuals in the events.
The way events sector have developed over time
The events sector have developed with the change in time and the requirements set by the customers. The changing trends in the sector also have boosted development. For example, the bridal events have changed in terms of packages where the customers are looking for packages like wedding photography, decoration, food and so on under one roof. The meetings and seminars are also changing with the need of refreshments and the requirements of better technological tools and support like interactive boards, holograms and so on(Mair and Whitford, 2013). The international level events like sports look for sponsors to decrease the cost while increasing the satisfaction for the customers by providing refreshments and audience engagements. There is also scope for further development for the events sector in terms of automation, usage of robots and other facilities.
